• For always pouring out His love towards us.

• Given me the energy to cook and make snacks for everyone.
• Too many blessings to name.
• Learning a lot during this experience.
• This opportunity to be with these kids. Great learning experience.
• VBS.
• Giving me the chance to serve and help others to know Him.

Things we have learned…

• God always provide (i.e. kids, supplies, funds)
• That kids are bad and good
• How much God loves this community.
• That so many kids showed up and enjoyed their time here.
• Everyone is friendly if you just say hello.
• God will guide you when you are lost and never give up on somebody.
• They (5-6 grades) are a lot harder than I thought!
• Love those who behave well, but give more love to those who might misbehave b/c they are the ones who need the most.
• Reminded once again to have a heart like a child.
• To work towards loving unconditionally.
• Even young children can be receptive to God’s word.
• To be patient and how to love kids that come from different backgrounds than I do.
• When there are a lot of kids, be calm.
• That an enormous amount of time is needed behind the scenes.
• To be more patient and appreciative.
• How to deal with younger kids.
• About servanthood.
• That some children need more love than others to set them along the right path.
• How God is working in these kids.
• No matter where someone comes from, they all want to hear the Word of God.

Things we would like to do better

• Helping out in other areas outside of “roles”
• Disciplining?
• Yes
• Reaching out, meeting more neighbors and be equipped to preach gospel as I meet them.
• VBS is exhausting.
• Be more prepared.
• Pray more for the kids
• Have a stronger constitution.

Areas of the program we would like to see improve

• Age appropriate games/activities
• Overall, organized well, but a few parts were too long for the kids’ attention span.
• Yes
• In more organization and arrangement in administration (check-in, check-out, rides)
• Use material that’s more applicable to these kids (for example, the 1st video about “the best surprise you’ve had “was all about materialism – which I think is not a video we should be showing these kids who don’t have much.)
• Smaller groups that are more organized.
• More organization during meal times.
• The children’s obedience to teachers.
• Teaching time for an hour felt too long and difficult for kids to stay focused – better time intervals!

• Continued growth/building relationships/follow-up with kids we saw at VBS.
• More people and smaller groups.
• More volunteers interacting, smaller groups.
• More volunteers.
• Different programs for different ages.
• Simply, a big more time to plan for lessons & coordination w/ parents to get them to and from church.
• More people attending but smaller groups = less rowdiness in the classrooms.
