Durham Literacy Center
The Durham Literacy Center (DLC) works to assist Durham County adults achieve personal goals and experience positive life change through increased literacy. They help under-educated adults gain the reading, writing, math, English language, and educational credentials (GED) to earn a living wage. DLC serves approximately 500 individuals per year. DLC has 11 staff and uses approximately 100 volunteers per year.
Grace Mission Ministries has partnered with the Durham Literacy Center to launch Computer Literacy Inspiring Community (CLIC), a computer literacy program. We will provide free classes at the Lakewood Baptist Church location (2100 Chapel Hill Rd Durham, NC 27707) . We seek to provide computer education and training to our students in order to improve productivity in current jobs, become eligible for further opportunities.
Classes for CLIC I (Introduction to Computers), and CLIC II (Basic Computer Work Training) will begin October 15th.
